Dr. Barrister Chinonso Ononuju Ezeala stands as a distinguished pillar within Nigeria’s legal community — a jurist whose trajectory embodies intellectual refinement, professional excellence, and an unshakeable commitment to justice.
Born on 1st November 1987, she earned her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) with Second Class Upper Division from Imo State University. She advanced to the Nigerian Law School, Lagos Campus, where she obtained her Barrister-at-Law (B.L) qualification, equally with Second Class Upper Division honours. In 2013, she was formally called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, heralding the beginning of a vocation defined by discipline and honour.
That same year, she joined the Nigerian Bar Association, Aba Branch, and commenced practice at the reputable chambers of Igbokwe, Igbokwe & Co. in Aba, Abia State. There, she forged a solid reputation in litigation and legal advisory, distinguished by analytical depth, precision, and unwavering ethical standards.
In 2023, guided by a resolute pursuit of excellence, she returned to Imo State University and attained her Master of Laws (LL.M) with First Class Honours — a testament to her scholarly distinction and profound legal acumen.
Her judicial calling reached a defining summit in 2025 with her appointment as a Magistrate in Abia State. Presiding over the Magistrate Court, Ogbor-Hill, Aba North Local Government Area, she dispenses justice with discernment, integrity, and steadfast impartiality, reinforcing public confidence in the rule of law within one of the state’s principal judicial districts.
Further elevating her intellectual stature, she commenced her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law in 2025, specializing in the Philosophy of Law — positioning herself as both a guardian of justice and an emerging voice in Nigeria’s jurisprudential scholarship.
