Chief Innocent Chukwuma (Innocent Chukwuma Ifediaso), CON, born 1 October 1961, is a pioneering Nigerian industrialist, investor, and visionary entrepreneur widely celebrated for transforming the automotive manufacturing landscape in Nigeria and advancing Africa’s industrial independence.
He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Nigeria’s first indigenous automobile manufacturing company, headquartered in Nnewi, Anambra State. Under his visionary leadership, Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing has become a symbol of African industrial innovation, producing a wide range of vehicles including buses, trucks, and passenger cars designed specifically for African markets and infrastructure.
Through his bold commitment to local production, technological development, and job creation, Chief Innocent Chukwuma has played a historic role in promoting Made-in-Africa manufacturing, reducing dependence on imported vehicles, and strengthening Nigeria’s industrial capacity.
Before establishing Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing, he built a successful entrepreneurial empire through Innoson Group, which operates across multiple sectors including automotive manufacturing, plastics, engineering, and consumer goods. His businesses have created thousands of employment opportunities and stimulated economic growth within Nigeria’s industrial heartland.
In recognition of his exceptional contributions to national development and industrial transformation, he was conferred with the prestigious national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON) by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
